The island of Ischia has a great deal to offer those who choose it as a holiday destination.
Apart from the wide range of beaches and thermal parks that characterise balneo-hydrotherapy tourism, the island also has a wealth of ecological itineraries, for trekking, botany and geology enthusiasts, food and wine tours for connoisseurs of fine cuisine, sea excursions to visit coves and sea caves, cultural itineraries both inside the historical villages themselves and aimed at the in-depth study of the rural culture of country villages.
In addition to this, there is a variety of events to attend – ranging between the patronal festivals and the film and international journalism festivals – representing yet another opportunity to get to know the island, its history, modernity, its links with other cultures and, last but not least, to enjoy yourself!
If you wish to venture elsewhere, going beyond the island boundaries in order to discover other islands, the mainland, some of the tourist hotspots in the Campania region: Pompeii, the Amalfi Coast, Mount Vesuvius, Ischia will prove to be an excellent base from which you can go on excursions, returning in the evening.
